Abstract
In the practice of public medical treatment, dosage of compounding suspension especially for children was still often encountered. However, it was possible to cause contamination or microbial contamination, which will affect efficacy and safety. Oral suspension places the second rank of most often made for dosage of compounding suspension. The aim of this research was to identify the differences of pathogenic bacteria and fungi that grew in dosage of compounding suspension in Primary Health Care Center in Banyumas Regency. According to the International Pharmacopoeia IV edition, the amount of pathogenic bacteria and fungi in non-sterile products of compounding suspension for oral use should not contain more than 102 CFU/g or CFU/ml of bacteria and should not contain more than 101 CFU/g or CFU/ml and should not contain Escherichia coli bacteria. The research used most often made of compounding suspension in Banyumas Regency as the sample. Measurement of growth of microorganisms was measured directly based on cell concentration (number of cells per unit of culture content) by plating technique measurement method. The research showed that there are pathogenic bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella sp., Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans fungus in the dosage of compounding suspension at Primary Health Care Center in Banyumas Regency. The compounding dosage of compounding suspension according to International Pharmacopoeia IV edition was a compounding suspension that did not contain pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus) and fungi (Candida albicans), which was found in Primary Health Care Center of Kalibagor and Pekuncen.
