Abstract
Savings is a type of savings that is very popular in the layers of Indonesian society ranging from urban communities to rural communities. Shariah operational principles applied in the collection of public funds are the principles of mudaraba and wadiah, the fundamental difference in the mechanism of working of Islamic fundraising lies in the absence of interest commonly used by conventional banks in providing benefits to customers. This study aims to determine the application of wadiah contract on savings products that exist in Bank Jateng Branch Purwokerto Syariah where the authors use this type of qualitative research. The result of this research is the application of wadiah contract on savings product in Bank Jateng Syariah Branch of Purwokerto is a wadiah agreement which is in accordance with the fatwa issued by the National Sharia Board of Majelis Ulama Indonesia (DSN-MUI) that has fulfilled the terms of contract like savings, taken on call or on a consent basis and no fee is required, except in the form of gift ('athaya). The process of applying the wadiah agreement on savings products in Bank Jateng Syariah Branch of Purwokerto is ideal to be applied because it meets the terms and conditions of the contract.
