This researchaimed to describe students‟ problem solving ability in mathematics
viuwed from their learning style at class VIIIB in linear equation system of two
variables material. This research employed descriptive qualitative. The sample
was taken using porposive sampling technique. It took three samples for each
group,namely: threestudents with visual learning style,three students with auditory
learning style,and three students with kinesthetic learning style. The instruments
used were learning style questionnaire,test of mathematical problem solving, and
interview guideline To validate the data,this research used triangulation
technique. This research revealed that: (1) students with visual learning style tend
to have four stages of mathematical problem solving ability, (2) students with
auditory learning style tend to have four stages of mathematical problem solving
ability, (3) students with kinesthetic learning style tend to have three stages of
mathematical problem solving ability.
