Traffic is one of the crucial facilities for society to accelerate their daily
activities. However, traffic can also cause big loss to us such as accident. Many
factors cause the accident such as riders/drivers themselves, other riders/drivers,
and the damaged traffic facilities and infrastructures. The problem discussed in
this research was the role of Traffic Corps of Departmental Police of Cilacap in
overcoming high traffic accident and the hampering factors of it. Based on the
results and discussion, it could be concluded that the role of Traffic Corps of
Departmental Police of Cilacap in overcoming high traffic accident was regulated
in Article 5 (1) Laws No. 2 of 2002 about The State Police of the Republic of
Indonesia shall be the state's tool that has the role for maintaining public
orderliness and safety, law enforcement and providing protection, safeguard and
services to public in the context of national security defense. The role of Traffic
Corps of Departmental Police of Cilacap in overcoming high traffic accidents on
the main road has been good. However, more assertive, responsive and alert act
are expected in overcoming traffic accidents.
