Abstract

The research entitled "Teaching Materials Development of Procedures Text’s Writing
Based on Local Wisdom for High School Students Grade XI", has aims to develop
teaching materials to write procedures texts based on local wisdom in easy and
understandable ways for students. This research uses research and development
method (R&D) which is carried out in six stages of research. The six stage of
researces are preliminary survey, initial prototype development, product design,
product validation, design revision, and description of research result. The subject of
this research is teaching material to write procedure text. Prototype’s Data source of
needs of teaching materials are students and Indonesian Language teachers of class
XI from Public Senior High School 1 Purbalingga, Public Senior High School 1
Bukateja, Public Senior High School 1 Bobotsari and Public Senior High School 1
Karangreja. Data source of teaching materials validation prototype is an expert
lecturer from the University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto and teacher of
Indonesian Language, class XI from the four schools. Based on the questionnaire of
expert and teacher validation test, the result is given by the average value wich has
given by the expert on the prototype of teaching materials to write the procedure text,
namely (1) aspects of material presentation of 62.5, include in the enough category,
(2) content / material aspect of 33.33, include in the less category, (3) aspects of
language and readability of 60, include in the enough category and (4) aspects of
graphics of 33.33 included in the less category. From these results, the expert gives
some improvement suggestions for teaching materials. It make the teaching materials,
better. While the average value given by six teachers to prototype teaching materials
write procedure text that is (1) material presentation aspect 89.05, include in the good
category, (2) content / material aspect 90,62, include in the very good category, (3)
language and readability aspect 90,10, include in the very good category and (4)
aspect graphics of 86.80, include in the good category. From these data, after making
improvements suggested by experts, then in the validation by the teacher, get a very
good value.
