Introduction: nursing students may have difficulty and experiencing conditions that lead to depression when faced with problems during college. VI semester students are more likely depressed because it has a higher intensity and the number of college assignments and student clinical practice than the other half. The level of depression will affect student learning outcomes students. Early detection of the factors that influence the occurrence of depression in college students can help students to solve the problems facing.
Subject: To know the description of the factors that influence the occurrence of depression in semester VI student’s the Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Program Muhammadiyah University.
Method: Descriptive research was study design, with a cross sectional sample using random sampling techniques, sample as many as 59 people. Data analysis techniques to test univariate, bivariate (chi-square) and multivariate (logistic regression).
Result: Environmental effect on the level of depression students (p = 0010), psychological effect on the level of depression (p = 0.020), and socio-cultural influence on the level of depression (p = 0021).
Conclussion: factors that influence the occurrence of depression in semester VI student’s the Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Program Muhammadiyah University are environment, psicologis and social culture
