This research aims to find the influence of profitability, company size, income
variability, and operating leverage towards the capital structure of companies that
operate in banking industry listed in BEI in 2014-2016. The sample by setting
spesific criteria for 3 years so that the amount of data is amounted as much as 84
observation. The data used in study is quantitative data and the method used is
multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this study indicates that the
profibality have an insignificant negative effect on the capital structure, operating
leverage have an insignificant positive effect on the capital structure, while the size
of company and income variability have a significant positive effect on the capital
structure of companies that operate in banking industry. The simultaneous effect of
profitability, company size, income variability, and operating leverage is significant
toward capital structure of banking industry.
