Abstract

This research was conducted in Dukuhwaluh village, subdistrict Kembaran, district Banyumas. The change of the house that was originally ordinary house into a boarding house influenced by Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto which is the only Universitas at Dukuhwaluh village. The method applied in this study utilized a single variable which was the function of a residential house changes into a boarding house in surroundings of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The findings obtained from the study on functional change of residential house into boarding house around the campus of Universitas Muhammadiyah Puwokerto were as follow: on the element of room change was 95.4%, in the element of kitchen change was 67.7%, in the element of garage change was 30.8%, in the element of bathroom change was 90.8%, in the element of mosque change was 9.2%, in the element of electrical change was 69.2%, inte element of wall changes was 53.8%, in the element of water source change was 37.9%, and in the element of floor changes was 82.3%. The dominant change that occurred was in the room element.
