Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determined the best material combination on cocopeat enrichment by adding PGPR and organic components, and to identify its effect on early agronomic plants growth. The research took place in Agricultural Microbiology Laboratory and Greenhouse LIPI Cibinong-Bogor. It was started from March 2017 until October 2017. The research design was non factorial Randomized Complete Design (RCD), and it was conducted in two experiments. The first was cocopeat enrichment experiment, it was to determine the best cocopeat enrichment material combination through different composition of PGPR cocopeat culture isolate, Beyonic StarTmik POH, Peanut Organic Material, and Kelor Organic Material. The second was an experiment to identified the cocopeat enrichment impact on early agronomic growth parameter of corn crop (Zea mays L.). The results presented that cocopeat enrichment over several different compositions produced a good cocopeat quality with pH ranging from 4.5 to 7.5, and bacterial population (cellulose breaker, P solvent, protein decomposition and IAA producer) above 107, that met SNI compliant. The cocopeat enrichment process in this research had not produced mature organic matter yet. In some treatments the C/N ratio were still high. The cocopeat enrichment treatment yielded a significant effect on agronomic parameters of corn plant early growth, as proven by the development on plant length, chlorophyll content, wet and dry weight of the plant and the root. The highest yield was attained from F2 enrichment media treatment as indicated by plant length (65.50 cm), wet and dry weight of upper plant (25.14 g, 2.51 g) and wet and dry weight of under plant (2.90 g; 0.32 g). Whereas the highest chlorophyll content was attained from F7 enrichment media treatment (32.95 SPAD unit).
