This research aims to describe the structure and view of the author's world
in Simple Miracles Doa dan Arwah novel by Ayu Utami which are parts of the story
content builder in the novel.
The approach of this research is genetic structuralism focusing on the
literature work structure referring to the social facts in society. The data were taken
from Simple Miracles Doa dan Arwah novel by Ayu Utami which provides
information needed by the researcher. The data collecting technique uses reading
and taking note technique with data analysis technique including data reduction,
data display, and data verification.
The results includes; 1) the structure that formed a literature work such as
novel including the story theme about the ‘I' character and his family, the
plot supporting the story, background as the determiner of the novel, the ‘I'
character as the center of the story and additional supporting characters,
characterization for determining the characteristics of the characters in the novel,
persuasive language to attract the reader's trust on the story. 2) the view of the
author's world in the novel is the ideas on the events happening in society described
by the author through the story of the novel, especially his religiosity view in the
form mechanisms of faith, mechanisms of skepticism, and critical spiritualism.
