Abstract

University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto is one that uses conciderable electrical energy. Faculty of Engineering is one of the buildings that quite absorb the enormous energy due to the equipment used for practicum every study program that quite a lot. To avoid the problem of large energy consumption as described previously Faculty of Engineering need to make efforts of energy saving. The results obtained from the energy audit process are to find ways to reduce energy consumption per unit of output and reduce operating costs. The exploring and literature study methods were used to evaluate the use of electrical energy and the Intensity of Energy Consumption in the Faculty of Engineering Building. The results of the evaluation show that IKE (Energy Consumption Intensity) in the engineering building is 31.48 kWh / m2/year this means the building technique can be said to be efficient use of electrical energy. This happens because some things such as the use of practicum tools that have not been 100% used because at the time of research the condition of the lecture has not run as usual, has not installed the elevator, the unused computer because the lab has not run as it should, and the lights that exist in the building was not all used well.
