This research aimed to describe the teens‟ social problems in the short story compilation of Bukan Karena Aku Tak Cinta by Eko Sri Israhayu and the suggestion of its application as the literature learning material in Senior High School (SMA).
The design of the research was sociological literature approach. Sociological literature approach analyzes human in society. The data used in this research were the text containing the teens‟ social problems in the short story compilation of Bukan Karena Aku Tak Cinta by Eko Sri Israhayu. The data source in this research was the in the short story compilation of Bukan Karena Aku Tak Cinta by Eko Sri Israhayu.
The result of the research showed that the teens‟ social problems in economic side were (1) the class differences, (2) the violation to the lower class. The teens‟ psychological problems were (1) the different opinion with the other member of the family, (2) lack of comunication between family members, (3) strong influence of peers, (4) the problems of being welcome and rejected by peers, (5) the problems between teens and educators, (6) the problems wishing to be a famous, (7) not confident in relationship, (8) problems to be recognized, (9) less ability in adaptation. The teens‟ problems in culture aspects were (1) materialism culture, (2) the teens‟ dating style, (3) the teens‟ gang style, (4) being jealous as the love sign, (5) hedonism life style. These three teens‟ social problems in the short story compilation of Bukan Karena Aku Tak Cinta by Eko Sri Israhayu could be implemented as the literature learning material in Senior High School (SMA).
