The research was conducted to examine the effectiveness of Team Pair Solo Technique for teaching reading comprehension using quasi-experimental research. The random sampling was used to take the sample of the research. There were two classes as the research participants. Class XI IPS 2 as the control group and class XI IPS 1 as the experimental group. There was treatment in the experimental group that was taught by using Team Pair Solo technique. On the other hand, the teaching reading comprehension in the control class used a conventional way or without any treatment. Pre-test was given to know the early competence of the participants in the reading comprehension skill. There was post-test after the treatment was given. The result of t-test calculation was 1.698 while t-table value at the level of significance α = 0.05 for degree of freedom (d.f) = 64 was 1.671. It meant that t-test was higher than t-table (1.698> 1.671). Based on the previous description, it could be concluded that Team Pair Solo technique was effective for teaching reading comprehension skill.
