The study entitled the effectiveness of the picture card number card toward
counting competence in group A of TK Uswtun Hasanah, Pataruman of Banjar
city of Jawa Barat, had been implemented in the second semester in the academic
year 2015-2016. The study was conducted I order to determine the effectiveness
of learning for students’ competence using number card and picture card media.
The method used in the study is an experimental method in the form of pre-post
control group design with a purposive sampling techniques. The study population
was all students in TK Uswatun Hasanah. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon
Sign Rank Test and proceed to determine the level of significance.
The findings showed that counting competence using picture card and number
card media showed a significant percentage, but the effectivity varied. The
circumstances affect students’ learning outcomes which was indicated by the
average of posttest in experimental classes with 35.0, while in the control class of
27.1. The results showed a significant improvement through the use of picture
card number card media. Based on these results it can be concluded that the
effectiveness of students’ numeracy skills can be improved through the media
number card and picture card in Group A TK Uswatun Hasanah Banjar.
