Abstract

The objective of this study was to improve students’ activeness in learning
the subject of geography through the learning strategy of everyone is a teacher
and game for the XI grade of social major at a senior high school of SMA
Muhammdiyah 1 Purwokerto.
This was a class-action research undertaken in 2 cycles with two meetings
in each. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting
which functioned to improve the previous cycle and to plan the next treatment.
The subject of this study was 35 students (22 females, and 13 males). The data
were collected through observation and testing. The data were, then, analyzed
through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
The result of analysis showed that the students’ activeness increased as it
was proved from the data of cycle I in which the precentage of their activeness of
42,72%, meaning active enough. At the end of cycle II, their activeness went up to
73,52%, included in active criterion. From the testing data, the precentage of
learning mastery of the first cycle was 88,57% and it increased to 94,28%. It
could be concluded that the strategies of everyone is a teacher here and
game could improve the students’ activeness in learning geography. The students
were very active in making the questions and in group discussion, in taking note
of conclusion, doing assignment, and they were active enough in answering the
question.
