Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of scrambled
sentence for teaching speaking at the eighth grade of SMP N I Sumbang in
Academic Year 2010/ 2011.
This research was carried out at the class VIII D and VIII E of SMP N I
Sumbang in Academic Year 2010/ 2011. The population was 210 students of five
classes. The data collection technique used speaking test in collecting data. In
analyzing data the writer used t- test. The computation showed that t-test was
higher than t- table (4.37 > 1.991). It means that the hypothesis was accepted and
it can be stated that scrambled sentences was effective in teaching speaking at
eight grade students of SMP N I Sumbang, in Academic Year 2010/ 2011.
