Abstract
This research entitled “Social Pathology of Main Character In The Novel of 86 By Okky Madasari”. The aim of the research was to describe the social patology and intristic elements that consisted of character, characterization, and background in the novel of 86 by Okky Madasari that related with social patology. The sourch oh the research was the novel of 86 by Okky Madasari. Published on 2011 by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama, with 256 pages. The approach was literature psychology, with some stepps, 1) the writer read the literature text of novel 86 intensively by reading it frequently and deeply to understand the plot of the story 2) decided the main character, characterization and background of the novel 3) finding out the data as well as classified the data that related with social pathology. The data was quotations that related with the problems of the research, 4) analyzing the novel based on the problem was used literature psychology approach, 5) the writer concluded the data . The result of the research was; 1) there were social pathology in the novel of 86 by Okky Madasari in the elements of intrinstic, consisted of characterization and background. The characterization was Arimbi and the background were place and social; the kinds of social pathology were corruption, narcotics, free sex; 3) social pathology that found in the novel of 86 by Okky Madasari caused of environment.
