This research entitled “The Analysis of an error of using EYD in The Report of Students Trip of Grade VIII SMP N O2 Karangleas”. The motived of the research was found when the writer done PPL in SMP N 02 Karanglewas. The problem was an error of using EYD on the report students trip grade VIII.
The population were students of Grade VIII. The sample were the reports of students trip grade VIII. The methode was descriptive qualitative and the technique of collecting data was documenter study. Documenter study is studying documents that were exist, and the document in the research were reports of students trip grade VIII. Sourch of the research were the students grade VIII of SMP N 02 Karanglewas academic year 2011-2012. The technique of analysis data were reducting the data, presenting the data, and verification.
Based on the research above, an error of EYD on the report of students grade VIII consisted of : (1) fragment of words (2.23%), (2) using of capital letter (27.40%), (3) repeatedly curve (8.14%), (4) prefiks of di-, ke-, dari- (22.96%), (5) abbreviation and acronym (9.62%), (6) pronoun of –ku (4.44%), (7) derivative words (1.49%), (9) using of dot (10.37), (10) comma (8.89), (11) hyphenated (2.23%), (12) exclamation point (0.74%).
