Abstract

This research study titled A study of Synchronisation of Proposition and argument in Argumentative Paragraph of Students in State Senior High School 4 Purwokerto. This study aims to determine syncronize proposition with argument and completeness arguments in argumentative paragraph written by students of class X SMA Negeri 4 Purwokerto. This study considered a qualitative descriptive study. Sources of data in research using samples. Sample of this research is class X-4 senior high school 4 Purwokerto 2012-2013 school year consisting of 28 students. Data collection techniques used were tasks techniques. To obtain the required data researchers assign tasks to students to make arguments paragraphs with themes that have been determined. In the analysis work, researchers used three stages: data reduction stage by taking a basic and important data based on the existing problems and make the classification. Stage presentation of data, researchers present data reduction results in table form classification then described in the form of a short description (narrative form). The final step is verification by drawing conclusions and verification of the results obtained from the data reduction and presentation. Based on the analysis found syncronize terms of propositions with arguments, the paragraph can be classified into three categories, namely good or perfect on the percentage of 28.57%, 60,71% unfavorable category, and the categories are not good 10,71%. Most of the paragraphs written still relatively unfavorable category, a fraction better or perfect, and the smallest category of no good. The facts demonstrate that the learning of learning to write paragraphs argument has apparently taught students have started to write a argumentative paragraph. It's just that students are still not optimally exercise and still difficulties in formulating ideas. In terms of the completeness of the argument can be classified into three categories, complete with a percentage of 28,57%, 60,71% less complete category, and the categories are not exhaustive 10,71%. From these results it can be seen that most of the paragraphs written by students including category incomplete, partially complete small category, and the smallest category is incomplete. The reality for the students during this bored when to write a paragraph of the argumentation too long and they did not master the topic because it has not received any reference or adequate knowledge about the topic. To the teaching of writing, particularly writing argumentative paragraph there should be new, innovative strategies, so that will encourage students to write argumentative paragraph.
