Abstract
Puzzle is a game that combined fragments drawing up a specific pattern. A
puzzle that constructed manually requires complex tools and players will not be able to
finish the puzzle game if a tool that needed was missing or damaged. Puzzles that are
played in the form of a computer application expected to provide flexibility for the
players at the time of completing the puzzle game. The type of games such as puzzle flag
requires players to learn. This system was expected to provide learning to the player. The
method used in the development of this system was backtracking algorithm. This method
was used because it is effective in finding solutions to puzzles and efficient in the
encoding process. The data processed includes data parts of the continent and the data
state flag. Results of the application in the form of a flag with a picture puzzle game level
was very easy with the number of empty boxes were 5 boxes, the easy level of the game
was the number of empty boxes were 10 boxes, the medium level of the game was the
number of empty boxes were 20 boxes, then difficult level with the number of empty
boxes were 30 boxes, and the last was difficult level with the number of empty boxes
were more than 30 boxes.
