Abstract

Scratches or sores on the skin caused by many things, such accidents can be utilized
by bacteria as a place to live, so it can infect the skin becomes more severe. It is also
supported by the state of dusty air, warm temperatures and moist so as to facilitate the
proliferation of microbes. To the use of drugs of natural origin can be used as an alternative
treatment, this is because traditional drugs are relatively easy to obtain. One type of
medicinal plants used traditionally as a remedy skin infections are kemukus fruit will be
developed in pharmaceutical preparations which can facilitate their use in the form of a
cream preparation. This study aims to determine whether the fruit extract kemukus be
formulated in cream good , and to know the effect of the cream formulations kemukus fruit
extract 's effectiveness as an antibacterial against S. aureus and P. aeruginosa. This is
experimental study. By examining the ethanol extract of the fruit kemukus with various
concentrations on the growth of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa in cream and then compare
the antibacterial power based on variations in concentration. All conditions are created
equal treatment, to determine the antibacterial activity. Kemukus fruit extract can be
formulated in cream that is both physically seen from homogeneity, organoleptic, pH,
viscosity, adhesion, and dispersive power. Test antibacterial cream kemukus fruit extract
cannot inhibit the growth of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa. Kemukus fruit extracts can be
formulated in cream whith have a good physically characteristic. Kemukus fruit extract
cream preparations can not inhibit the growth of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa .
