The study was aimed at finding the significant empirical differences of
financial performance of the regential government in four regencies, i.e.
Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap and Kebumen. The financial performance covers
the variables of independence, effectivity, and the balance of apparatus cost, the
balance of public service cost and debt service coverage ratio. The method used in
data sampling was purposive sampling with a criterion of the regency and the
municipality that publish their budgetary in 2005-2010 and they had a complete
financial statement. The analysis method was independent sample t-test with
significance level (α) of 0.05.
The results of analysis indicate that there is no significant difference of the
average financial performance among those regencies compared in the study. All
the regencies show the similar average financial performance as it is shown in the
comparison, for example, between the performance of Banyumas and that of
Kebumen, between Banyumas and Banjarnegara, between Banymas and Cilacap.
The same result is also proved in the similar comparison involving other regencies
in this survey.
