Abstract

Annas, Khaerul, 1209010008. 2017: Liberal Feminism of Female Characters as
Seen in
Frozen
Movie. Undergraduate Thesis for Sarjana Sastra Degree, English
Department, Faculty of Letters, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto.
This research reveals about liberal feminism in
Frozen
movie. It is proposed to
find out the liberal feminism values as it is reflected by the female characters,
Elsa and Anna.
In conducting this research, the researcher applies liberal feminism theory. By
using that theory, the researcher divides liberal feminism values of the female
characters into three parts: women as androgynous people, women as
autonomous decision makers, and women as intelligent creatures.
From the analysis of women as androgynous people part, Elsa and Anna are the
figures of androgyny. They can present their feminine and masculine sides
through their manner, power and character. From women as autonomous
decision makers part, they are firm and decisive characters in making decisions.
From women as intelligent creatures part, both female characters are smart and
quirky. They have skills dealing with negotiation and rational thought as well
