This is to describe the types of naming and the meaning of hotels and inns in
Baturraden tourism area.
This is qualitative descriptive study. The data source is the hotels and inns in
Baturraden tourism area, and the data are the names of the hotels and inns there. The
data collection was done through interview. This was undertaken trhough two steps of
(1) basic technique of elicitation, and (2) other follow-up techniques of (a)
interviewing, (2) recording, and (3) note taking. The questionnaires were distributed to
all hotels and inns in Baturraden tourism area. The data analysis was done using a
comporative method with basic techniques of sorting out the determinant elements,
and the continued technique of comparative technique to compare the main elements.
The display of analysis results used an inforamal presentation, i.e. wrinting them in
common words. Based on the analysis, there are 112 names of hotels and inns. The
types of naming include: the unique character (6), the founder (18), the similarity (47),
the abbreviation (4), and the new patterns found are "bunga" (flower), and "indah"
(beautiful) (11), "selamat" (5), condition and situation (18), and names of figures (2),
names of places (13), and the ordinal number (4).
