The study entitled "Word Slang Formation in SMS Language Variety on the
Students' Status in School Environment of SMP Negeri 2 Ajibarang in 2015" aims to
describe word slang formation in SMS language variety on the students' status in school
environment of SMP Negeri 2 Ajibarang in 2015, (1) phonologically, (2)
morphologically, and meaning relation.
The method of data supply was by population and sampling method. The
methods used in this research was distributional method, basic technique: Direct Element
Distribution (BUL), Further technique: Dissipation and substitution technique. The data
description of the data analysis result was informally presented.
The findings show that the slang word formation in language variety of SMS of
the students' status in school environment in SMP Negeri 2 Ajibarang in 2015. In
phonology, there are 20 data of extra phoneme, 14 data of phoneme reduction, and 17
data of letter substitution. In morphology, there are 31 data of abbreviation, 17 data of
the use of other terms, 13 data of capital and lower case letter combination, 8 data of
number and letter combination, 7 data of letter combination, number, symbol and
abbreviation, 2 data of affixes forms, and 3 data of repetition forms. At the last was
meaning relation, synonym, there were 5 data of antonym, 2 data of homonym, 5 data of
homonym. Therefore, the most formation word was abbreviation.
