Abstract

This research aims to study the factors effecting income smoothing. The
independent variable used was company scale, profitability, leverage, dividend
payout ratio and net profit margin. the data of the research was gained from
www.Idx.co.id. The semple of the research 57 consumer goods companies
enlisted in Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2011-2013. The hypothesis
was by logistic regression analysis because the dependent variable used matric
and non matric variable.
The result of the research showed that the variable of company scale did
no affect on income smoothing. It can be seen from the significant value of 0,262
more than 0,10. Profitability did no affect on income smoothing. It can be seen
from the significant value of 0,075 less than 0,10. Leverage did no affect on
income smoothing. It can be seen from the significant value of 0,286 more than
0,10. Dividend payout ratio did no affect on income smoothing. It can be seen
from the significant value of 0,434 more than 0,10. Net profit margin did no affect
on income smoothing. It can be seen from the significant value of 0,063 less than
0,10.
