Provision of education in Cilacap regency has been complete in all over the
areas, in term of education level and the facilities. In 24 sub-districts belong to
Cilacap regency, both private and public schools are available; including primary
and secondary schools. There are 1.093 schools in Cilacap including 983 public
primary schools, 89 public junior high schools, and 21 public senior high schools.
Each school has its official website functioned as an information media that could be
accessed globally. However, information displayed in the website were rather
general and not complete. Consequently, many people could not find location of the
public schools. Public also got difficulties to get facilities information of the schools.
Therefore, the geographic information system was needed in order to provide
information of the school location and facilities easily. This research mapped the
location of public primary schools, public junior high schools, and public senior high
schools in Cilacap regency. Utilizing Android based Geographic Information System,
the location and facility information of the schools was presented faster, easier, and
more efficient; people did not need to visit the schools directly to get the information.
