Abstract
This research entitled "Metaphorical Verb In Rubric of "Ole Internasional" and
"Ole Nasional" In Bola Tabloid on January 2016 aimed to describe types of
metaphorical verb and metaphoric determinant with meaning component analysis on
rubric "ole internasional" and "ole nasional" in the football tabloid on the issue of
January 2016. This research was descriptive qualitative research. Data provided
were 92 methaphorical verb. Data source in this research was Bola tabloid on the
issue of January 2016 which consisted of four tabloids; it was first week edition
(Edition 2.648 / 7-13 January 2016), second week edition (Edition 2.649 / 14-20
January 2016), third week edition (Edition 2.650 / 21-27 January 2016), and fourth
week edition (Edition 2.651 / 28 January-03 February 2016). This research was
done in three steps; presenting data, data analysis, and presenting the result of data
analysing. The method used in data presentation was literature method with
recording technique. The methods used in analysing the data were distributional
method and referential method; distributional method with base technique namely
immediate constituent analysis and followed by replacement technique; while
referential method with base technique namely determinant-sorting technique and
followed by correlation of the equalizing technique and correlation of the
distinguishing technique. The method used in presenting the result of data analysis
was informal method.
This research's result was types of metaphorical verb based on tenor, mode, and
ground: (1) anthromorphic was 15 data /16.31%, (2) zoological was 5 data / 5.34 %,
(3) arising from the transfer of experience from the concrete to the abstract or
vice versa was 67 data / 72.83 %, and (4) sinestetik was 5 data / 5,43 %. Based on
the linguistic structure, it found metaphorical verb in word form was 70 data / 76.10
%, and metaphoric verb in idiom phrase was 22 data / 23.90 Based on the
metaphorical determinants, it found decisive metaphorical verb of subject (S) was 13
data / 14.14%, predicate determining (P) was 11 data / 11.96%, object determining
(O) was 47 data / 51.08%, decisive information was 1 data / 1.08%, and the
determinants of idiom phrase was 20 data / 21.74%. It can be concluded that the use
of metaphorical verbs in rubric "Ole International" and "Ole national" of tabloid Bola
edition in January 2016 by tenor, mode, and ground were dominated by kind of
metaphoric arising from the transfer of experience from the concrete to the abstract
or vice versa, and the type of metaphorical verb based on linguistic structure was
dominated by the metaphorical verb in word form. As well as the determinants of
metaphorical with meaning component analysis which was dominated by the
determining object (O).
