Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the kinds of feedback in writing class and to know the reasons of using the feedback at SMP MuhammadiyahCilongok in the Academic Year 2016/2017. It was a descriptive study. The subject of this research was teachers who teach English. The data was collected by observing and interviewing teachers. There are many kinds of feedback used by teachers, they are teacher correction, commentary, error identification, peer correction, self-correction, teacher students conferencing.The result showed that teachers used teacher correction, commentary and error identification as a feedback. The analysis of student’s problem in writing are:organizing ideas, wrong grammar, lack of vocabulary and spelling.
