Abstract

The use of contraception is one of the most effective efforts in the Family
Planning Program to reduce the population growth. There are many women in fertile age
(WUS) that follow family planning program but there are still some women that have lack
of contraceptions knowledge, So the researcher give the treatment to educate them
through video, because this media is one of health education method that is easy to
understand. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of education with
video method to women in fertile age. The research method used is experimental with
one-group pretest-post test design. The sample of this research is 370 WUS by using
purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used questionnaire and
analyzed with Wilcoxon test. The results of analysis obtained from pretest results are in
good category (11.1%), enough (64.9%), and less (24.1%). While the results of posttest
are good category (95,9%) and enough (4,1%). So the p value of the two-tailed test
hypothesis is 0,000 which is smaller than the value of α (0.050) which means there is a
significant difference in the level of knowledge between the respondents before and after
the provision of educational intervention with video methods.
