Abstract

The aims of this research was to investigate the students‟ perception of teacher teaching technique and classroom management. The method of this research was descriptive that only focused on gathering the information. There were 61 students of grade seventh participated in this research as the sample. The participant were investigated using quesionnaire and semi-structure interview. The result of the questionnaire was covered into percentages. The finding of the research showed that there were good perceptions given by students for their teacher teaching technique and classroom management as the students perceived around 95.07% students said that teacher help the students to learn how to read and write English well. More than 55.73% students perceived that teacher are able to master the material. Around 80.32% students said that teacher keep the classroom neat. Around 52.45% students said that teacher used the appropriate pace when explain the lesson, 68.84% students perceived that teacher have creativity in using discussion as teaching technique. Around 70.48% students said that teacher states the lesson objectives before teaching started. Further, the result of semi-structure interview, the students responded that teacher always help them how to write and read correctly, used discussion, the teacher always used text book, always observed students ability, used easy language, gave assignment, and used both L1 and FL.
