Abstract
The making of ceramics membrane made from natural zeolit has been widely used. The membrane is made through several stages including preparing the main material, mixing, casting, and sintering stage. The good membrane structure depends on the constructing substance. This research aimed to analyze the adding of muscle into ceramics membrane from natural zeolit. The data were obtained from result of experiment and then analyzed with graphic and statistic using anova. The findings of the research show that the density of ceramics membrane with muscle concentration variety of 0%-20% and heating temperature of 900oC is 1.18-1.78gr/cm3. Moreover, the density of ceramics membrane with heating temperature of 800-950oC and muscle variety of 10% is 1.15-1.31 gr/cm3. The water absorbtion with muscle concentration variety of 0%-20% and heating temperature of 900oC is 37.43%-43.63%. Furthermore, the water absorbtion with heating temperature of 800-950oC and muscle variety of 10% is 40.46%-47.92%. The measurement of apparent porosity with muscle concentration variety of 0%- 20% and heating temperature of 900oC is 47.42%-75.02%. In addition, the apparent porosity with heating temperature of 800-950oC and muscle variety of 10% is 46.40%-62.79%. The value of membrane flux is ranging at 2.453-5.661 L/m2.hour. It is proven from the result of cross flow reactor test that the better BD and pH is obtained than the initial concentration.
