Abstract

Gurami Fish (Osphronemous gouramy Lac) is a kind of fish which has
special quality in Purbalingga Regency, especially in District of Bojongsari. This
Gurami fish has high economical value compared with the other fish. The
frequently occurring obstruction is an emerge of fish disease on around July-
September until the beginning of rainy season. This step of research was
collecting the data. This research had been conducted since the compiling of
proposal until examination, defensive examination, and revision for 13 months
from October 1st until August 31st, 2012. This research was aimed to : (1) find out
how much cost that had been paid by the cultivator on fish farming phase I, II, and
III, (2) find out how much income did the cultivator get on each phase, (3) find
out business feasibility R/C ratio of Gurami cultivation phase I, II, and III.
Bojongsari District, Purbalingga was chosen in purpose as the research
location. The sample were 20% of the population which was divided into three
clusters namely cluster I (cultivation phase I), cluster II (cultivation phase II), and
cluster III (cultivation phase III). The cluster random sampling was employed in
determining the sample of research and it was gained 12 people of 16 populations
in cluster I, 13 people of 65 populations in cluster II, and 18 people of 90
populations in cluster III.
The result of analysis showed that the average cost spent for one cultivation of
Gurami fish on the first step was Rp. 1,589,588.54, the second step of cultivation
was Rp. 1, 537, 644.23 and the third step of cultivation was Rp. 1, 968, 093.06.
the average income for one cultivation on the first step was Rp. 377,011.46, the
second step was Rp. 398, 535.26 and on the third step was Rp. 1,591,906.94. The
appropriateness of an average effort of Gurami fish cultivation on the first step
R/C was 1,24, the second step R/C was 1,35 and on the third step R/C was 1,81. It
meant that on all three steps of fish cultivation benefited and was appropriate to
manage better. Of the three steps of cultivation, the third step was the most
beneficial.
