Abstract

This research aims to: 1) To know the pattern of maize marketing in the
village Karangmlang, Kedungbanteng sub-district, Tegal district 2) To know the
Farmer share and margin of each marketing channel corn in the village
Karangmalang, Kedungbanteng sub-district, Tegal district 3) To know Farmer
differenees in value of the farmer share and maize marketing margin in
Karangmalang village, Kedungbanteng sub-district, Tegal distric 4) To know the
problems faced by farmers in maize marketing in Karangmalang village,
Kedungbanteng sub-district, Tegal district. This research was begin in from February
to December 2015 in Karangmalang village Kedungbanteng sub-district of Tegal
district.
The research method used was a survey, ( simple random sampling ). The
number of samples in this study were 120 farmers of respondents, 3 traders collectors
and 2 trader retailer.
The results showed that; (1) There are two patterns of maize marketing
channels in the Karangmalang village that is Producer (farmer) - collectors - retailers
- konsumen. Producer (farmer) - retailers - konsumen (2) Section received by the
farmer or farmer share in the first marketing channel for 91.66 per cent and in the
second marketing channel for 96.55 percent and the marketing margin on the
marketing of the marketing channel of Rp 250, - / kg and the second marketing
channels for Rp 100, - / kg (3) The difference in the value of farmer share and
margins in the marketing of corn in each marketing channel in Karangmalang village,
Kedungbanteng sub-district, Tegal (4) Problems faced by farmers in marketing of the
corn crop is corn payment issues. Farmers who sell directly to collector do not get the
money. So that farmers find it difficult to play the capital for the next planting season.
Based on conclusions of this study suggested; traders collectors should
provide advance as a sign prior to farmers who sold maize to traders collectors.
Farmers better off selling corn directly to retailers so that farmers get immediate
proceeds and have no trouble capital that will be used during the next planting season
and also can meet the needs of farm family themselves.
