Abstract

Pantura and south routes are connected by Jatilawang – Rawalo road. As
the effect of comal bridges collapse in Pemalang, all heavy vehicles were
redirected to southern West Java. This diversion was started from Wangon
intersection with Banyumas as the intersection point to south in West Java which
surely pass Jatilawang – Rawalo.
Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method was a method used in evaluating
the road damage. This method was able to evaluate the damage complexly, so the
real condition of the road could be described. The survey applied to 8.020 m
length and 7,00 m width Jatilawang – Rawalo road was divided into several
segments with 100 m × 7 m range in each segment to ease the identification.
Generally, the condition of Jatilawang – Rawalo road was in a good rate
with 60 % PCI score. Sample unit 13 (Sta 24±000 to Sta 24±100) had the biggest
PCI score wich was 82 %, while sample unit1 (Sta 31±400 to Sta 31±500) had the
smallest PCI score which was 30 %. The types of damage found were patching
ang utility patching with 1649 m2. Photoles was the damage that rarely found with
only 0,6 m2 damage.
