Abstract

According to World Health Organization report on 2012 stated that about 80% chronic dissease occurs in middle and low income countries. The result of Basic Health Research on 2013 show that, Central Java province ranked second as the highest stroke patients after West Java. Drug related problem (DRP) defined as an event or circumstance involving drug theraphy that actually or potentially interferes with desired health outcomes. The aim of this research is to identified the problems and causes of DRP in hosptalized non haemoragic stroke patients. This is an descriptive and observational research with prospectif approach. The DRP tools was identified by Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe V.07 tools. The result show that the problems of DRP consist of the effect of drug treatment not optimal 42,66%, unnecessary drug treatment 6,82% , untreated indications 2,7% and adverse drug event occuring 47,6%. Whereas the highest causes of DRP consist of drug interaction 29,1%, drug dose too low 17,46%, inappropriated drug or contraindicated 9,93%, duration of the treatment too long 8,56% , drug dose too high 8,21% and inappropiate drug form 8,21%.
