Abstract
This research was aimed at knowing students’ perception on the authentic
assessment in curriculum 2013 at SMAN 3 Purwokerto in academic year
2016/2017. It used descriptive survey research. The population was the twelve
grade students of SMA N 3 Purwokerto in academic year 2016/2017. The total
number of students as the samples was 90 students. The techniques of data
collection were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire was distributed to

reading because they agreed when the teacher asked them to find out intrinsic
elements then analyzed the text by making mind mapping and then summarizing
and retelling the text in front of the class. 2) In writing skill, around 73% of the
students had positive perception on authentic assessment of writing because they
agreed to create and present a passage in the form of portfolio. 3) In speaking
skill, nearly 96% of the students had positive perception on authentic assessment
of speaking because the activity done by the teacher in speaking assessment is
relevant to their daily lives. 4) In listening skill, around 81% of the students had
