Abstract
This study aimed to figure out the implementation of Civic Education learning in building students' nationalism characterin SMP Negeri Kembaran. The researcher used qualitative approach using analysis descriptive method. Data collecting techniques such as interview, observation, documentation and literature study were used. Subjects studied were Civics teachers, Vice principal for student affairs and the students. Extended observation, triangulation, sufficient references and member checks were used for data validity while the technique of data analysis was done by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawl. The results of this study shows that the implementation of civics learning is able to build nationalism character for students in SMP Negeri Kembaran. Teachers used contextual learning, methods, and media to provide understanding and skills in applying students' nationalism. Civics learning was implemented in the form of being proud citizens of Indonesia, following flag ceremony, being a good learner, valuing to domestic products, preserving nature, and participation of students in state events in order to build the character of nationalism at school.
