Abstract

The research was conducted with the objectives of: (1) formulating the need
for creative writing materials of project-based drama script with contextual
approach according to teacher and student in SMP class VIII; (2) develop
prototype / feasibility of creative writing material of project-based drama script
with contextual approach in SMP class VIII; (3) to know the student response of
learning using creative writing materials of project-based drama script with
developed contextual approach; (4) to know the effectiveness of the use of
creative writing materials of project-based drama script with contextual approach
on the students of SMP class VIII.
The method used in this research is the development method (Research and
Development). The stage of the method is (1) to analyze the product to be
developed; (2) developing the initial product; (3) expert validation and revision;
(4) small-scale field trials and product revisions; (5) large-scale field trials and
end products. The test of the product is done by experimental method with the
design of Paired T Test, Independent T Test, and Normality test, and
Homogeneity test, to know the module's feasibility by changing the score of
questionnaire result, the five scale conversion. Results obtained; (1) the need of
teaching materials according to teachers and students who received a very good
response. (2) assessment (expert response) content assessment, expert validation
39.00 category very good, Indonesian teacher 33,00 category good. Language
assessment, expert validation 20.00 categories are very good, Indonesian teachers
16.50 good category. Assessment of presentation, expert validation 44.00 category
is very good. Indonesian teacher 38,50 category is very good. Assessment of
graffiti, expert validation 24,00 category is very good, Indonesian teacher 20,00
category good, teacher of ICT 18,00 category good. (3) assessment (student
response) on a limited scale on the aspect of material feasibility 20,50 average
category is very good, the average language aspect 16,90 category is very good,
the average presentation aspect 57,70 category is very good, the aspect of graffiti
Average 17,60 category is very good. Data completeness pascatest 100%, and
averages 89.8 percentage of 80% completeness, and an average increase of 30.7.
Assessment (student response) large-scale aspects of material feasibility average -
21.00 categories very well. Aspects of language average 16,76 categories good,
aspect presentation average - 58,12 category very good. (4) proved effective after
being tested in the experimental class and control class because the value of t
arithmetic experimental class is greater than the value of t arithmetic control class
(19,030> 18,573). In the experimental class more different / increase compared to
the learning module given to the control class. Therefore, it can be said that
learning with module is more effective than conventional learning, and can
improve the creative writing skill of experimental class drama students with
increasing score pascatest 80,74 with percentage mastery learning 67,65%.
