Abstract
Conventional concrete bricks are non-structural wall-made materials.
Nowadays, many people start to use concrete bricks as a wall-made material. In
Banyumas, there are a lot of husk ashes wastes that is not utilized by the people.
This research used husk ashes as the additive in making concrete bricks to figure
out its pressure strength, water absorption and optimum composition. This
research used 3 kinds of mixture and 1 control composition. The stage research
were model planning and composition of testing object based on comparison (1
Pc : 7,6 Ps : 0,4 As; 1 Pc : 5,6 Ps : 2,4 As; 1 Pc : 4,8 Ps : 3,2 As ; and 1 Pc : 8 Ps
as control). The data analyzed by a quantitative descriptive method and SNI
(Indonesian National Standard) requirements 03-0349-1989. The result of
average testing were: a) strong-press average for each composition in a row was
28.92 kg/cm2, 25.54 kg/cm2 and 21.79 kg/cm2. Each included in the quality
requirement of III, III and IV; b) The number of each water absorption in a row
was 36.50%, 45.21% and 62.85%.The optimum composition was on the
composition of 1 Pc : 7.6 Ps : 0.4 As, with the highest pressure strength.
