Abstract

Acne is one of the skin disorders that one of them caused by the bacteria
Propionibacterium ances (P.acnes). Previous research has suggested that lime
leaves essential oils have activity against P.acnes bacteria. This research aims to
make liquid facial foam formulations as an anti acne to P.acnes. The method used
in the anti bacterial test is the diffusion method by the disc method. The research
of physical properties of liquid facial foam show that liquid facial foam with the
addition of the essential oil of lime leaves giving distinctive odor of essensial oils,
the color of fomulation is white milk, and homogeneous. The pH test resuls and
high foam test results give normal results and meet the requirements with the test
results pH 5-6 and foam high test of 11-19 mm. The result of viscosity test
showed average viscosity 247,8-416,0 cps and it can be concluded that the
viscosity test is still less qualify. The next test treatment is antibacterial activity
test of liquid facial foam against P.acnes. From the result of the antibacterial test
of addition 10% essensial oil concentration, it has the most effective inhibition
zone.
