Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) Condition of Kasimpar village
of Wanayasa sub-district of Banjarnegara regency, (2) the early presence of potato
farmers and their development in Kasimpar Village, (3) the process, production
and development of potato plants in Kasimpar village (4) the explanation on the
socio-economic impact of potato farming in Kasimpar village.
This research uses historical method consist of 4 stages, namely (1)
Heuristic, which means searching for the source by interviewing, documentary,
and observation. (2) Criticism, which is conducted in two stages covering external
critic for authenticity and internal critic for factual credibility. (3) Interpretation
by interpreting the data obtained as facts, and (4) Historiography which means
rewrite in the form of description.
The result of this research shows that; (1) Kasimpar village is one of the
seventeen villages in Wanayasa sub-district of Banjarnegara regency in Central
Java Province. The total area of Kasimpar village is 623.03 Ha. Kasimpar village
has an altitude of about 1,800 meter above the sea level, the temperature of
Kasimpar village is on the average of 170C, the population is approximately about
1603 people, and its area is dominated by the number of residential areas, and
public facilities such as places of worship, schools, and so on. (2) The Cultivation
of Potato Plant increases the income of the community's economic condition to
fulfill their daily needs. (3) The existence of this potato cultivation has a socioeconomic
effect by increasing the economic income of Kasimpar village society
and also social effect especially in increasing education sector
