Abstract

This study entitled ―students’ perception of teacher’s reward to motivate students in learning English (a survey study at the eighth grade students of junior high school 1 kembaran)‖. The objective of this study was to know the students’ perception in learning English by offering reward from the teacher. The data was taken at SMPN 1 Kembaran. This study employed survey as a method of the research and eighth grades students in that school as the subjects which consisted of 143 students. The writer used questionnaire and interview as instruments to gather the data, and then the result of it was analyzed. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was found that the students’ responses of teacher’s rewards in learning English was good because the percentage showed 91.7% of students strongly agreed with teacher’s rewards in learning English. It means that the students were happy and enthusiastic in learning English when the teacher using rewards.
