Abstract
The high number of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) cases in Indonesia, especially in Purbalingga District is the number one sequence in 10 major diseases in 2015 with 106,078 cases, which has an impact on the high use of irrational antibiotics. Method door to door is usually used in the field of marketing for the promotion of a product to increase the sale of goods. But in pharmacy, door to door method can also be interpreted as pharmaceutical homecare (Home Pharmacy Care). This study aims to determine the relationship between the provision of education with the method door to door to increase knowledge about the use of antibiotics in ARI in Wanogara Kulon Village. This type of research is quasi experiment or quasi experiment with one group pre-test post-test research using questionnaire. The research population is all mothers in Wanogara Kulon Village, amounting to 390 people, the minimum sample number used is 80 respondents and sampling is done by accidental sampling method. Most of the respondents were more than 30 years old, the highest education level of respondents was elementary school with 52 respondents (65%). In this research, the value of p value of respondent knowledge level is 0,000 (p value <0,05) obtained from Wilcoxon test using SPSS, it can be concluded that there is significant difference of knowledge between pre-test and post-test. These results show that there is a statistically significant influence in the provision of intervention in the form of door to door education on the knowledge of mothers about the use of antibiotics at ARI in Wanogara Kulon Village, Rembang Sub-District, Purbalingga District.
