Background: CBIA is an educational method to increase mother’s knowledge for
understanding over the counter medicines. The increasing of mothers knowledge
about self medication have benefit to manage drugs in the household with correct.
Objective: This study was aimed to show the effect CBIA of implementation for
increasing mother’s knowledge and self medication behavior in some districts in
Kabupaten Banyumas south.
Methods: The method of this research is an experimental study with quasy
experimental design. Data was collected by using a questionnaire for pre test and
post test
Result: The result show that there are mother’s knowledge and behavior increased
significantly. Average score of pre test and post test was increased from (6.70 to
9.27), 40.20 to 50.04).
Conclusion: The CBIA method can increase mother’s knowledge and self
medication behavior
