Zeolite has a good role for soil and plants. Zeolite is applied better with
restoring substance. The using zeolite in Agriculture is like feeding plant with it’s a
vessel. So if soil is given by fertilizer with zeolite as an addition, it is like zeolite as
plant a vessel and fertilizer as plant food. Husk charcoal is a good restoring substance
that is able to repair physical, chemical and biological feature of soil especially high
clayey such as ultisol soil.
This research aimed to find out the dosage of zeolite and husk charcoal used
on the growth and crop onion in ultisol soil. This research was conducted in
Karangsoka Village, Kembaran District Banyumas Regency on May to October 2014.
This research was arranged based on Randomized Completely Block Design and each
was repeated for nine times. The factor tested were: zeolite dosage consisted of 2
standards: 0 and 1 ton/ha while husk charcoal was: 0 and 20 ton/ha. Then the observed
variables are as follows : Number of leaves , average leaf length , number of leaves
clump , wet bulb weight as well as dry bulb weight and the diameter of the bulb. The
research showed that the usage of zeolite and husk charcoal on this research did not
affect significantly on the growth and crop of onion.
