Abstract

The aim of this research was to improve the students’ creativity in writing procedure text using picture series at VII grade of SMP Cokroaminoto Banjarnegara in Academic Year 2011/2012. The writer used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was designed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart’s design. This research was conducted from 7th to 17th May 0f 2012. The subject of this research was at VII grade of SMP Cokroaminoto Banjarnegara which consisted of 22 students. The data were collected through observation, questionnaire, and interview. For analyzing data, the writer used class percentage and interrogative qualitative analysis. Based on the discussion of the data gathered and analyzed, the writer had concluded that picture series could improve the students’ creativity. It was supported by the improvement of observation at the end of the second cycle which reached 19.3%. And it has passed the indicator of action success (15% improvement).
