The research, entitled Analysis of Word and Phrase Meaning Component
of Foreign Languages in Electronic Advertising in Newspapers Suara Merdeka
Edition March 2012 component aims to describe the meaning of words and phrases
in a foreign language electronic advertisements on the newspaper Suara Merdeka.
The methodology of this research includes the type of research, data and data
sources, as well as the research stage. This type of qualitative research is
descriptive. This research data in the form of foreign language words and phrases
(in English) that contain the meaning components consisting of 22 words and 40
phrases. Sources of data in this research is the source of the data written in the form of
electronic advertising discourse on the issue of the newspaper Suara Merdeka in
March 2012 consisting of 47 ads. The research was conducted in three phases: phase
provision of data, data analysis stage, and stage of presentation of the results of data
analysis. In this stage of the data using the method of library provision. In the data
analysis stage using agih methods with the basic techniques of engineering for Direct
Elemental followed by dressing techniques and methods of referential match with the
basic techniques of engineering Segment Critical Elements followed by engineering
Equalizing The relationship of Appeals and techniques The relationship Appeal of
discernment. In the stage presentation of the results of data analysis using formal and
informal methods.
Results from this research that found a foreign language words and phrases
(in English) that contain the meaning components in electronic advertising in the
newspaper Suara Merdeka. Said a foreign language (English) containing a component
of meaning in this study is as much as 35.48%, while foreign language phrases (in
English) which contains the components of meaning in this study is as much as
64.52%.
