Abstract
Background : In Indonesia, every year more than 3.5 million children under the age suffering from various types of stomach diseases by the number of deaths of around 105,000 people and that number will continue to increase at a place - a place that cleanliness is not maintained. Worm infection is a common disease among children - children. The high number of intestinal worms is influenced by the lack of clean water, which is not clean lifestyle, lack of toilets and low levels of education (Soemirat, 2005).
Object : This study aimed to examine the relationship between the landfill in Karang Klesem and East Purwokerto and worms along with the factors incidence.
Method : The study was an observational analytic cross sectional study design. Population of elementary school students in the Mount Tugel and East Purwokerto sampling techniques using random sampling. Statistical test using the chi-square test and Kolmogorove-Smirnov.
Result : Factors affecting the incidence of worms in the TPA and non-TPA were age (p = 0.008) with OR (95% CI) = 1/0, 481 (0028-8321), the availability of latrines (p = 0047) with OR (95% CI) = 7.22 (0820-63628), and the habit of hand washing (p = 0027) with OR (95% CI) = 2.061 (0560-7577) and the factors that have no effect on the incidence of intestinal worms is the father's education level (p = 0924 ) (Baharudin, 2009).
Conclussion : there is a connection between the landfill in the village of worms Karanglesem the incidence of infection in children of elementary school age. Factors influencing the incidence cacaingan are age, availability of latrines and hand washing.
