Creeping cincau gel is hidrocolloid coming from leaf of creeping cincau
(Cyclea barbata L. Miers) which has bumpy energi if is added water and can be
used as binding agent of tablets. The purpose of this study is to know the ability
creeping cincau gel as binding agent of antalgin tablets.
The study was made three antalgin tablets formulas with creeping
cincau gel as binding agent which is different the concentration is 2,5% w/v, 3,5%
w/v and 4,5% w/v. The tablets was made by wet granulation method, the granule
is tested its flow of the characteristic, whereas the antalgin tablets is tested the
physical characteristic is the variety in weight, hardness, friability, and this
integration time.
The result of this study show that creeping cincau gel at 2,5 – 4,5%
concentrate can be used as binding agent of antalgin tablets. The higher of
concentration binding agent which is used, the higher of hardness, the lower of
friability the longer of disintegration time.
